The NCLEX is administered (?) in the US by a company called PearsonVue.
You can visit their website at
http:http://www.pearsonvue.com
There are no set dates, however; each applicant makes their own appointment once they have approval from the board of nursing in the state for which they are making application. Once you get authorization from the state, then you can check with PearsonVue to see what dates and times are available to schedule the exam. This can be done either on the telephone or online via the computer.
It's not like it used to be, with everyone taking the test(s) on certain dates or at certain times of the year. It's pretty much year-round now, with everything done on computer via the above-group.
Hope this helps -

That does help John. But I have one question. Do you know if there is a deadline to take the exam after you get approval? Like do we have to take it right away or within 30 days or whatever? Does anyone know?

This is a very old thread and much will have changed since 2004. For most states you do have a expiry from obtaining ATT and should state on it what the expiry is. For most I believe it is 90 days although eligibility to sit exam from state is a bit longer

In the states:
For the NCLEX-RN, the ATT Letter is good for 6-months; after 6-months, it will expire and you will lose ALL money paid!
GOOD LUCK !

Not all states have this requirements. I know some are 90 days and others was 12 months so a lot will depend on the state
