I have a College Network NC1 study guide. Now that Excelsior college has changed some things, is this guide now obselete? I want to start studying for NC1. My guide is dated 2005. Can I still use it or will there be an updated one out soon.

I really think you'll be fine -- I'm using guides from 2003/2004, and I'm doing well. If you have already signed up for a free account on the Excelsior website, you should download the current NC1 exam content guide -- it's good for people planning to test between September 1, 2007 and September 30, 2008. They do update the study guides every year, but it doesn't look like it's changed too much, at first glance. But that content guide will tell you what's covered on the exam, and if you don't feel your study guide is covering all the topics, you might need to supplement with other sources. Good luck!
I just called Excelsior. I was told that the NC1 will stay the same under the new policy. LPN's will still skip NC2. NC3 will be divided into 2 parts, and both parts will be renamed. Additionally, there will 3 clinical competency assessments at a Pearson center. These clinical assessments will be done on a computer.
So to answer my previous post, the College network NC1 guide can still be used, even if you register after Oct 1.
