I am a nursing student in my last semester with a goal in mind of eventually working abroad after gaining a couple years experience. I have triple citizenship (USA, EU, and CAN)... I am wondering how this will help me (or if) in the grand scheme of things when I consider making the move to nurse abroad. Obviously I will have to pass whichever country's boards...I don't really have one specific question I am asking, just curious on this aspect.
Are there any dual or triple citizens out there who have found this is an advantage and if so how? Or if anyone has any input for that matter.
Thanks-

If planning on moving to one of the countries you have citizenship the only advantage is no work visa/permit otherwise you still have to met nursing requirements.

It depends where you want to work. It is a real challenge nowadays to obtain registration in countries that you don't currently practice in. I am originally from the UK and luckily found Australia and New Zealand relatively easy to obtain registration. However, I found it really difficult to gain registration in Canada. I am currently applying for registration in Washington State, as I have been offered a place on a PhD program. Good luck!

With an EU citizenship you do not need a special work permit in countries that belong to the EU. BUT you still need to meet the requirements for nurses in each country including language requirements, having nurse education compared by official agency, and so on.
