Multiple Acceptances ? How to pick ?

Published

Yesterday I received another nursing school acceptance. YAAAY right. But now I'm stuck I don't know what to do I went to orientation for my first nursing school offer which is the school I've been at since my freshman year & I actually just went Thursday to get a background check. Which was $60 . I applied to 4 different schools. So far I've gotten 3 acceptance letters. All are great schools with good nclex pass rates. I'm so torn.

Specializes in PICU, Sedation/Radiology, PACU.

Does any school have a better reputation among local hospitals? Personally, I wouldn't look for the program with the highest NCLEX pass rates (which can be manipulated), but the highest percentage of graduates working as an RN within a few months of graduation.

All things being equal academically, choose the one that lets you finish with the least amount of debt.

BSN program or ASN program? Choose the BSN program and get it done with. Proximity to your home? Facilities where clinicals are done? The school that uses the greater number of facilities where you see yourself applying as a grad, should be very high on your list. General attractiveness of the school? You may be spending a lot of time there. Parking availability? Extracurricular activity, if you ever have time? There are lots of things to consider. Make a list of what is important to you and then rank the schools. Decide what is most important and then take it from there. If you find yourself at a dead standstill, there is always tossing a coin! BTW, congrats on all the acceptances! Many students would love to have your problem!

All those are valid things for me to consider. I will do a pro & con list for all 4 . & yes it's a beautiful problem.my best friend that applied to schools with me has yet to get a acceptance smh
