Mulling a move to Denver

Hi all! I'm currently in Charlotte, NC and have been trying to get into nursing school for about 1.5 years now.

A friend recently mentioned moving to Denver mid-next year (which i've been wanting to do for awhile now) and I was just curious how hard it is to get into nursing school (it seems like in CO they do waiting lists? Here they don't - i also have alot of pre-req's done but need to look at the classes needed there) and how hard it is to get a job as a CNA 1 or Phlebotomist around there? I am a PBT(ASCP) and have my NC CNA 1 and I know i'd be working like crazy before I'd get accepted anywhere.

My community college is doing away with the waitlist. However, everyone who had their prerequisites completed by the middle of December gets their spot on the waitlist and the school will process all of those students before opening up for competitive admission. I spent 3 years on the waitlist and get to start in January.

You may look at the universities here in Denver since you have some prereqs completed. It may be quicker to get into a BSN program. When I looked at going that route, I learned that there are 6 students applying for each spot at UCHSC. Since I have 2 Bs on my BSN prereqs, I was concerned about being good enough. I also have a son with autism, so my community involvement is rather low. Several people from my earlier classes have been accepted there, so I know it's not impossible, but since my waitlist number came up, I didn't feel like gambling on the possibility.
