what does mu mean?

I am reviewing math problems, and I keep encountering things like 8mu/min, etc. What does the mu stand for? My books do not have the answer and googling it resulted in nothing.

milliunits - so 8mu would be .008 units if im doing it right its been a while! its like milligrams to grams, just move the decimal over 3.
