MSN - Should I apply to WGU?

I'm just completing my RN-BSN at Grand Canyon University and now I'm considering WGU for my MSN. I'd like to complete my MSN (Nursing Educator or Leadership) in about a year.

Questions:

1. Is there a proctored (or webcam) exam for every class in the MSN prog?

2. Are there lectures for these classes (or text books) and are the exams based on this same content?

3. I work in Long Term Care (i.e. skilled nursing). Can the clinicals / practicals be completed at a LTC or only at hospitals?

Thanks everyone!

WGU is not a traditional school. Not every class has a test, so no, not every class has a web proctered exam. Some classes you have tasks to complete like write a paper. Some classes are a test and some have a combination of both.

I have yet yet to encounter any lectures for classes and some have ebooks and some don't. I did have one class that had recorded YouTube videos from teachers to assist with the tasks for the class. But this university is very much self paced. They say here all the stuff for the class and leave you to your own devices. Each class has a chatter which is kind of like this message board where people ask questions about the tasks or test etc and the teachers reply with answers. Very helpful.

I am in the RN to BSN so I can't answer for clinicians. Honestly if you want to know about the program and how it works you should call and talk to an advisor. This college is awesome and I love it but it is nothing like a traditional university and takes some getting used to

Thank you for your response, Katvoight. I appreciate the info. I'll call one of the advisors as you suggested.

Thanks!
