Moving to Tucson

I'm pre-nursing right now so I can apply to the MEPN program at UA, so sorry I don't have a lot of advice on the hospital from a nursing standpoint. But I have lived in Tucson (moved from Nor Cal) for 15 years. The area you are talking about, the foothills, is the most desirable area of Tucson to live. There are some apartments and condos in that area so you should be able to find something there, maybe just a bit more expensive but a very nice area and an easy route to St. Joseph's. Any specific questions?

Tucson has a lot of houses with guesthouses out in the back yard. I go to U of A and live in one now. It gives more privacy than an apartment does and sometimes you can find one with all utilities included. I found mine on Craigslist and when my Mom moved out here she found a real nice one on Zillow. Search for casita or guesthouse to find them. I haven't done any clinicals out at St Joseph's so I can't give you any information on that. City Data forum has some good information on neighborhoods in Tucson; each has their own flavor and charm (or lack of). I live in First and Mountain neighborhood and love it. People are very friendly and we have community activities in the park to include a big music festival in the fall. My word of warning about Tucson is that property crime is high. Lock up bikes, lock your car; make sure you are insured for theft; have renter's insurance and make sure your vehicles are covered. Just a fact of life here. Enjoy Tucson; there is a lot to do here and the people are among the most friendly I've met in the US.

from my research property crime is higher than normal. thanks for the heads up for the casitas/guesthouses will look into it. trying to keep housing cost around $500.

no idea really on the specifics lol but probably insights on st. joseph's. the unit manager did a great job reeling me in lol. I will be there monday so I'll check it out.

500$ is very doable in Tucson. You can find an apartment, share a house, or find a guesthouse for that easily. Possibly even with internet and utilities included.

yea im not picky and don't have a lot of stuff. just looking for studio size units.
