Moving to Phoenix- looking for New Grad RN job

Published

Hello All!

I'm reaching out to RN friends in the Phoenix area. I'm moving to Phoenix on Aug 29th from Wisconsin as a new RN grad. I've been applying to a lot of jobs online, but haven't been getting a lot responses from anything other then home health.

Are there any job fairs coming up? Any tips on getting into acute care? I've worked as an LPN for a year in long term care and another two years in long term care as a CNA and hoping to get into a hospital.

Thanks!

Tara

Summer is a terrible hiring time in general out here. Prime hiring season is in fall to prepare for the flu season and all the snow birds coming in.

Cast your net wide. Getting acute care jobs here as a new grad is mostly about what connections you have in the hospital systems. Many new grads start in LTC. Unless you have a BSN. Then you may stand a better chance at getting into a hospital. Good luck.

If you already have a Phoenix address, start using that. An out of state return address might be turning off some opportunities.
