Moving from NYC

Hi,

I'm planing to move from NYC since I graduate in May 2022. I'm not sure where should I move to Cleveland or Tampa.

Please advice.

Well, those two options don't have much in common. I'm just assuming that you have reasons for narrowing your move to those two.

Just my personal opinion but if it's a choice between only Tampa and Cleveland I'd choose Cleveland.  I'm not a fan of stifling Summer heat and humidity. I live farther north than Ohio by a could of states and while I complain about the cold and snow every Winter I also don't think I'd like living in a place without the change of seasons. Ohio is far enough north to still have Winter but not so far north that Winter is a 7 month or longer ordeal and that sounds pretty good to me.

Of course much more than just weather should factor into your decision. Do you have friends or family in these locations? Look at wages vs cost of living. Just a guess on my part but I'm thinking since Tampa is such a well known tourist town that cost of living might be higher there compared to wages. Also what's the housing market look like? Where I live the cost of rentals has skyrocketed and people looking to buy are having a hard time finding anything without going way over their budget.

I think this really depends on what you're looking for, especially because as said above, these are very different places!

I am from OH and now live in NYC - and I personally want to stay in NYC and wouldn't want to move to either of these! But again, personal preference.

Also, keep in mind you will make significantly less as an RN in both Ohio and Florida, than you would in NYC (but cost of living is also much less).

My fiancé is from CLE and he wants to move in Florida. NYC is expensive too even though the salary might be high.
