Mount Marty?

Has anyone gone to this school or know much about it?

Do you mean Mt. Marty in South Dakota?? I grew up in SD and will be placing an application there for the next year. You do your didactic part at Mt. Marty in Yankton and then travel to Sioux Falls(less than 30 miles from Yankton) for clinicals. I am honestly not sure about number of cases and degree of seriousness etc. SD is cold and windy so you better bring your winter coat and gloves:):) Good luck if you decide to go there.

I also looked at South Dakota's program. I believe they required several pre-reqs I didn't have. eg. organic chem, physics, etc. I also didn't like the idea of having to travel to attend clinical sites.

One of the guys on the admitting board for Mount Marty works at the hospital where I work at. I'm just beginning the process of becoming a nurse as I work in the Materials Management division, so I haven't talked to him yet. You can also go to Sioux City, (where I work) or Omaha for clinicals as well I understand, which works well for me.

I ran into one SRNA at the hospital a couple of weeks ago. I asked her how she liked it. She said she liked it but was kept busy or something like that. I said "But it will be worth it once your done with school, huh?" She said "That's what they tell me."

I need to talk to him to find out what would make me more 'attractive' to that school.
