I need to purchase this book still. Should I get the regular ole' hardback or go w/ the tinier version? I noticed it wasn't much more smaller than the regular and only a $5 price difference.

I personally have the pocket version. Your right, its not much smaller than the regular. I bought it with the purpose of carrying it with me, but after a few weeks I didn't need it anymore. I think mostly it's going to be a matter of personal preference as to which book you decide to buy.

I think I used my dictionary 2 or 3 times during school. There's nothing in there that's no on the internet. I wouldn't buy one at all.
I thought about that myself, just not buying one. But, I'm afraid if I do that and my instructor needs me to whip it out in class, I will make a you know what out of myself. LOL!
OK, but I've never heard of being expected to bring a dictionary with you. A drug guide, yes (but really, a mobile app is SO much better), and maybe a skills guide when you start clinicals, but never a dictionary. Of all the useless books I wasted money on, this was the most useless. If, unbelievably, they do expect you to have it on you, I would get a mobile app anyway.
I don't have a smartphone. I just noticed on my book list for the nxt few years, the dictionary is requirement. I just really wanted advice on whether or not I should purchase the pocket guide or the full size.
