More IPN stuff

Published

I'm just needing to vent and need advice. This is the second time this has happened. I'm in severe pain and have a sore and I can't wear my prosthetic leg, I was also picked to go drop urine today. The last time this happened I called my IPN caseworker and told her I couldn't wear my legs and she began to yell at me And told me that's no excuse. So I dare not call. I'm going to have to jam my prosthetic on top of open skin and walk on it and try not to cry. How is this humane? How is this helping my recovery? Why are we not able to take care of ourselves? I'm over this and ready to get out of healthcare.

Agree this is not compassionate nor reasonable. Do you use crutches at all?

No I do not use crutches. My coordination sucks when it comes to them. I also have a flight of stairs going to my home. I've finally made a decision to put my nursing career on hold and work a job that doesn't require a license. I feel like the bullying is out of control and it's too expensive when you have medical costs. Thank you for your response.

I hear you loud and clear. It's incredibly frustrating the loops we need to jump through to make it work. We continue to do the right thing but still being looked at under the microscope. I'm so sorry you were so uncomfortable that day. I hope your sores heal quickly and maybe in the future a lightweight w/c will give you a break from using your legs. The programs don't care and you'd basically have to be in the hospital to get a break.. even then, they still want you to attend your meetings! I've seen it with someone admitted to the hospital after a c-section. Seriously. Good luck with your other career choice (for now)! Come back to nursing soon.
