i am new to the forum and so far just love it. I need some suggestions. i am curently an adn nursing student in nyc, but will be relocating to moore county NC (Aberdeen) this summer and need some suggestions on what school to transfer to. i prefer to transfer to a BSN program, but was told there are none in the immediate area. any information on schools will be greatly appreciated. i do not want to interrupt my studies and would like to enroll next sept.

hey dyanne!
moore county is kind of in the middle of nowhere. but about 45 minutes north is UNC-Greensboro which has a really good nursing program which is a BSN program. UNC-Chapel HIll shouldn't be too far from moore county either...i don't think. There is also Sandhills community college in aberdeen/southern pines where you could finish your associates and then transfer to UNCGreensboro to get your BSN...that way you could ease into the move and/or start working sooner as a nurse b/c there really is no difference in pay.

Hi twinRN04
Thank you for your response, the information is very helpful. What part of NC do you live in ?

Hi dyanne,
The University of North Carolina at Pembroke is located only a few miles from Moore
County. UNCP offers a regular BSN program as well as a RN to BSN program, which is what I'm doing. The RN to BSN program is designed for nurses with an associate degree who wish to earn their BSN. The best part is, they offer all the classes through Sandhills Community College which is located near Southern Pines. I love it! I can save costs by living at home and still earn my bachelors. Just an idea. Good Luck!
