2 months into it

New LPN, can't believe it's been 2 months already. As I started out I was very much expecting it to be overwhelming, and it was.

MED pass is always an olympic event (go,go,go,go!!).

What is continuing to baffle me is where do I put all these papers? Orders get double noted and go there, this gets faxed and placed in this basket, etc. It doesn't help that I am per diem and get placed on different units all the time!! I think the biggest irritant for me is the time constraints. If there isn't a med in the cart, run all the way back to the med roon and look and see if there are any, or go to another unit and look in another cart etc!

?? Have you been tempted to "skip the Prilosec" because it's not a real vital med and you just don't have time to run all over hell anymore??

I am beginning to "see" the differences between acute and chronic care settings I think.

The aides have more "care time" with the patients/residents than I do.
