MNU ABSN Fall 2019

Published

Has anyone gotten accepted into MidAmerica? I would like to ask you some questions! I have been accepted but am curious as to how YOU will afford the program, etc.

My application was just verified through NursingCAS so I am not sure if I will be accepted into the program for this fall or not. If I am, I know I will receive a pell grant which will help some. Unfortunately, I will have to take out student and personal loans to cover the rest.

@BethAnn24 Thanks for commenting! Are you originally from KS or will you be moving once you are accepted?

Usually, you have to wait at least 4-5 weeks before getting a call.

I submitted mine in February and got a call in April -- so I had to wait a little longer than you.

@PleaseDontForgetMyName waiting is the hard part, haha! I was late deciding to apply because I was nervous about taking the TEAS. I am hoping that there is still space available for the fall. If not, I will apply for the spring cohort.

I live just under an hour west of MNU. I am not looking forward to the drive but at least it is just for a year! How about you? Do you currently live in Kansas?

Hi, Guys!

@PleaseDontForgetMyName Congratulations on being accepted!!!!!!! How exciting!

I applied at the end of March and have not heard anything back yet. The waiting part is literally driving me crazy. Lol. It’s all I think about and I’ve logged on to this site literally a hundred times to look for new posts ?

@BethAnn24 I also live just under an hour from MNU. I’m on the Missouri side. The drive will be totally worth it if you get accepted though. You still have a chance of getting in. My enrollment specialist said it could take months to hear anything back. I don’t think you applied to late or anything like that. Good luck to you!

@LoveMyDoodle Good luck to you as well! My enrollment specialist said that it should take about 1-2 months to hear back since they have already started accepting students. I will to try to be patient, haha! Be sure to post when you hear back! ?

I am a current ABSN student at MNU. I'd be happy to answer any questions if anyone has any! I know how stressful the sitting and waiting is. It was torture for me! Good luck to you all and feel free to message me.

hello! i applied in the middle of march and have not received an acceptance yet but i am keeping my fingers crossed! good luck to everyone ?

@shortyy Good luck to you and let us know when you hear from them! ?

@radiate I would love to hear about your experience so far! How long have you been in the program?

@BethAnn24 I started in August 2018 about 8 months ago (it goes sooo fast).

It's a really good program! Some profs/classes have been better than others, and there have been a few classes where the lectures/profs haven't been as useful, but overall I have learned tons and feel very well-prepared to take the NCLEX in August. The hospitals we go to for clinicals love our students and we have a great reputation in the area. Some of my classmates already have post-grad jobs set up!

Also, don't let people scare you into thinking you'll have no life and that it's the hardest thing in the world. I good number of people in my cohort get all As and it's perfectly attainable to do so while still having a life!!

This program has been the best decision of my life so far! Jeeze, I should become a recruiter...

Let me know if I can share anything else!

hello! for mnu absn program would you recommend investing in a laptop/tablet for note taking during lecture? are you allowed to audio record? would a rolling backpack be more convenient?

@radiate I am so glad to hear that you can still have a life while in the program! Can you give us an idea of what a normal school week looks like? Do you spend a lot of time studying outside of class? Where have you gone for clinicals? Are they 12 hour shifts?

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us! ?
