Hello guys! I am making this post so that we can talk about our application process ? I have not seen any other post regarding MJC 2021 application period. How are you guys holding up? Any new time applicants?

I’m curious to see what points everyone is applying with. All I keep hearing is that this year people are applying with high points.

Hello! I just finished taking my TEAS and will be applying with 86 points. Hopefully that is enough points to get accepted into the program. Also, I believe last year the cut off was 82 points.
I’m applying to Columbia’s programs but I have 79 points. I’m only applying with one B and I’ve taken every extra course I can take along with having experience. At this point I’m guessing I won’t be getting in.

What other schools is everyone applying to? I've heard some are not doing ADN programs this year due to COVID.

Hello everyone, I am applying with 80 pts. I know it may be a longshot but it is worth a try. I will be retaking the TEAS in a couple weeks for potentially more points; if not selected I plan on getting my CNA license in the Summer for additional points as well for the next application. Best of luck to everyone!

I’m applying with 81 and not expecting to get in. 86 will be enough for sure. I wonder if they are taking less students again because of covid.
I spoke with one of the instructors and they said possible they will take less students than they would a normal non COVID year. That is due to the BRN standards for clinical hours and being able to comply with those standards. It can all change she said depending on the COVID situation.

Honestly those points you get for having your CNA license is a big plus. I have mine and was able to get my 1,000 hours which helped improve my mspar score significantly. Hopefully you score higher on your TEAS!

My friend who is in the program now said they took 10 less students for each semester this past application period. Hopefully the accept the full amount this round.

Thank you. Yeah I plan on doing the CNA for the extra points if I am not selected at this point in time then I will re apply. I scored 80 on the TEAS. Do you have any tips to score higher? So far I have been reading the ATI secrets book, practice questions, and going to take the ATI practice tests.

Yeah they took 80 instead of the usual 100. The counselor said in a normal year 80 would have been okay, but during the "new normal" it may fall short.

Honestly, I only scored a 78 on my TEAS. But I really did not study that much prior to taking my test. The only thing saving me is that I have all A's, CNA, and my volunteer hours.
