Misys interview

I have an all day interview with Misys Healthcare next week for an entry level implementation position. Has anyone out there worked for this company? Any advice?

Misys has a good reputation. Their origins come from their LIS-Laboratory Information System. They currently produce applications/systems for other clinical areas - clin doc, physciain practice, EMR, inpt and out pt., etc. Do your research and Good Luck!

I interviewed with this company in 2005; since I was experienced and I was coming from a company that gave me 15 days off in the year (in addition to national holidays), one of the questions I asked was how many days would I get off; the reply was '5'; I then mentioned my experience blah blah blha, and they firmly said something to the effect of, "all our employees start at 5 days of vacation......"

after that comment, well, the interview didn't go so well, and needless to say, not working for Mysis currently :)

Thanks for the reply! I agree, only 5 days is kind of rough. I have no experience though, so I'll take what I can get. Can you tell me more about the interview process. Did you interview with a group of people or just spend time with different people through the day? Did it really last all day? Any info you have would be great and would help to ease my nerves. Thanks! :lol2:

Well, in my case when I applied with them, they conducted all their interviews over the phone, and it was 3 different people, so about 3 hours long; first two people i remember talking to were people that had the same job role that I was applying for; they talked some, told me about their job role, and then they asked me if I had questions, I did, and well, it went from there; but basically what they ask is related to your job experience and situational questions that are typical of these jobs like, what do you do if a client is demanding a feature that the software does not offer? what do you tell the client? or what was the most difficult project you implemented and why,...I don't remember the interview being anything tricky, just open ended questions about stuff I had experienced; the last person I spoke to I believe was some type of higher up individual, and he was asking how come I was looking for a new job, again, project like related questions, but nothing that was microsoft like questions such as, 'how many tennis balls fit into a football team.." :)

I'm sure each interview is different depending on the position. When I interviewed with this vendor there were two phone interviews before I was flown in for an all day in-person interview with HR, and 3 different staff members. The intervew process really was the entire day including a very extensive Myers-Briggs type evalution. They did provide lunch with interview questions continuing throughout the meal. I remember they had a business casual dress code and believe in reinvesting company profits back via R&D.

Good Luck!
