Hello everyone, i need some advice.. I am starting nursing school In January, and back in 1995 and 1997 i have some misdemeanor charges, one for a bounced check the other was for shoplifting.. those are the only charges and i was 19 at the time, and Im really freaked out about not being liscensure eligable!! I have worked so hard to get to where I am and I would just die if they denied me my liscene. Has anything like this happened to anyone out their and what was the outcome, i am seriously loosing sleep over this, and my stomach is in nots just thinking about it! I intend to be completely honest with the board and am going through Declaroratoy Process order .. well i havent gotten everything together yet!! Anyway... any advise would be so helpful and especially if anyone has ever dealt with this before!!

Most state boards ask for felonies, arrests and DUI's, misdemeanors don't apply. It really shouldn't be a problem. If you actually losing sleep, I would suggest you call the state board and ask what you will be facing. My bet is nothing.

PS... I don't want to go into detail. I have a similar story, and I have a license in OR and AZ.
