In lab Wednesday we spent just a short amount of time looking through Bergey's Manual to learn how to classify bacertia. Well we werent given any direction on how to use this book at all. Just skimmed through it on our own. I was really hoping I could pick up a copy at my local library so I could really look through it and understand how it was set up. No such luck.
I've looked around online a little bit hoping for a website to walk me through how this book is set up. Again - no luck.
So is there anyone who can give me a quick run through on this manual? For example, we will be given a list of properties (negative gram stain, rod shape, flagellated...) and have to find out the genus and species. I have NO CLUE how to even start to look this up.
Any help would be so appreciated. TIA!
