Miami NICUs

Miami Childrens is the best teaching Hospital the other one is Jackson memorial Hospital they do ECMO.I will go to them. If you like NICU and pediatrics ,for adult traumas the best ER is The Ryder at Jackson Memorial Hospital.If you learn in it your career will be well paid in the future. Shand Hospital in Geneisville at :welcome:University of Florida is #1 in the state they have also transport team teaching.

Miami Children's Hospital (MCH) is great!

I loved working there. They treat their nurses really well, with respect from the Managers, Doctors, Residents, etc. It's a nice family feel there, everyone knows everyone and that's really nice.

MCH is has a CVICU, which sounds more like what your experience is in, which does ECMO, cardiac surgeries, etc.

The hospital is Peds only, which allows them to split apart their departments into specializations.

Agree with the other posters that Miami Children's and Jackson Memorial (Holtz) are terrific.

Jackson tends to get more of the bizarre cases (on all their floors), is also a teaching hospital (affiliated with Miller School of Medicine) and does a TON of research. If you are interested in research stuff, that's the place to go.

Just to be fair, there are several other hospitals in the area that have NICUs that are also considered very good. The two above are considered the "best" unofficially (don't ask me stats) and are well known.

Have you tried Mount Sinai in Miami Beach? The NICU has a lower census than Jackson but the team there is incredible. The nurse manager is great to work with, and the unit preceptor is fantastic as well.
