About how long does it take to get your actual MEPS appt scheduled? I emailed my recruiter Monday morning with couple of dates that I am available and I still have not heard from her. I'm just wondering because I feel like I'm at crunch time for the January 2012 boards and I would like to breath easy before the holiday.
Thanks!

Not very long, MEPS is like a factory with conveyor belts. The biggest hold up is filling out the prescreening form.
Oh ok. I believe I have already done that and turned in the forms in October; unless there is another prescreening form to be done. Do you think I should call her and ask about the date for MEPS? The dates that I gave her are next week and I also need to know so that I can take the day off from work as well.

Where is your recruiter, Which MEPS?
My recruiter is in Atlanta. I think the MEPS facility in at Fort Gillam. I called her on Friday to see if she had a chace to schedule the appointment but she hasn't returned my phone call yet. I would that she will give me some notice before the date that I am scheduled to go.

Prescreen is actually a very quick process, assuming your recruiter is experienced and the liaisons are doing their jobs correctly. I can't speak for all MEPS (worked in KC), but the medical recruiters can usually call the station and speak to the OPSO about getting somebody in next day or even same day if there is a looming deadline. The reason is because the medical recruiters typically don't bring in hordes of trash and don't treat the MEPS personnel like they are trash either.
I wouldn't demand that my recruiter get me in on short notice, but don't sweat getting in. Getting in to MEPS is really not going to move the process along faster as usually there is a lot of waiting for available commission dates based on schooling dates and other details.
Oh ok...she did call me yesterday and told me my appt is scheduled for Friday. She was going to email me with all the details yesterday but she probably got busy and will do it today. She's also trying to set up my CNO interview for the beginning of next week. I guess I better do some more research on here so I am prepared.
So what if everything is not done by the time the board meets? Do the recruiters just wait to submit your packet at the next board meeting?
