Men in a womans world

Is it just me or are there more men going into nursing than ever before? I am a 36 yrold male that is about to graduate with my RN and there seems to be way more men than there used to be in this job, why are men leaving construction and other types of jobs like that to go into a job that is predomanitly women?:rolleyes:
