I am an extern in Methodist and my impression has been very good thus far.
Living in Memphis is cool I suppose as long as you stay in certain areas.
hi crnasomebody25,
our employer told us that we may be working either methodist, the med, arlington hosp or st.francis...of the 4,which do u think is good?can u please tell me your experience at methodist?thank u so much....
I like Methodist. It seems to have good management and pt. ratios. I also like the working environment.
A lot of people seem to want to work at Baptist, though I'm not sure of the exact reason why. I did clinicals at The MED and I enjoyed the floor I was on.
really..that's good...i really like to know more about the hospital where i"ll work, but i will find out where the time we will be arriving there...i hope i can see you there in methodist...:)..thank u so much for the reply...

I also work at Methodist and I like the working environment. I've heard nothing but horrible things about Baptist, sometimes the nurse to patient ratios can go into the double digits. I've heard former employees refer to it as the beast. I've never liked St. Francis because it seems to dirty and depressing. Good luck.
hi marvinskbaby1,
how long u've been working in methodist?and what is the nurse-pt ratio where u are assigned?how about the cost of living?thanks for the reply...
This is only my second week working there. But the nurse patio ratio is usually 4-5:1. I'm a floater, meaning I go to different floors to work. Yesterday I worked on 6 East a stroke/seizure floor at methodist, it's the only floor that I don't like to work on because it's so small and kinda depressing I even overheard the clinical director for the floor even mention that no one likes to work on this floor. But everywhere else is cool. The cost of living here is pretty fair. $500-600 a month for an apartment in a pretty decent neighborhood.
