  1. Hey everyone! I'm so sorry to hear that. I haven't received anything yet. I'm freaking out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have never been so scared in my life.
  2. Hey everyone!! Sorry I haven't been on in awhile. It's great to see that everyone is doing well. I had my interview last week. It was a great experience and I enjoyed touring Vanderbilt. It's a beautiful campus. I'm just hoping and praying for a spot. It truly would be a dream come true for me.
  3. Thanks! I moved to Nashville about three months ago. Where are you coming from? I hope we both get accepted. I'm just so nervous because I want to do well. The job market has been really bad on everyone. I hope things get better and we get jobs.
  4. Hi Zippy7! I'm interviewing for the adult medicine track too. My interview is on Monday. I've never been so nervous in my life. I really want to get into their program. Good luck everyone!
  5. Hi everyone! I hope your day is going great. I'm a new grad (May 2011) and I have an interview for a position on an ortho/neuro unit tomorrow. I was hoping to get some advice on what might be asked from the nursing aspect. I'm very nervous and I just want to do well. I've researched the hospital and made some questions I would like to ask them. If anyone has any advice or words of encouragement, I would appreciate it. Thank you and have a great day!
  6. Has anyone heard about when their interview is? I sent an email with dates/times and haven't heard anything yet.
  7. Hi everyone! I have a friend who recently started a job in LTC. She feels overwhelmed with the patient load and the other nurses are not very helpful. She confided in me today about recent events of bullying and yelling at work. If she were to resign now, would that look like she was a quitter and would it be harder to become employed somewhere else? I wasn't sure if it would or not. I guess it could go either way. There are consequences to the decisions we make. She asked me if she should put it on her resume and I'm not sure. I know in a background check it would show up and you don't want to seem like you're hiding it. If anyone has any experience or advice that I could share with her that would great. Thank you for your time.
  8. Hey everyone! I have an interview for the adult medicine track. I am so excited and thankful for this opportunity.
  9. Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone had heard anything from Vanderbilt regarding the next steps? I'm so nervous!
  10. Hi MathisRN! Just keep applying. I've heard from a lot of new graduates that it isn't uncommon to go a whole year before landing their first job as an RN. The economy definitely doesn't help but we can't give up. We have worked too hard to graduate and receive our license to just give up. I hope this helps. It's hard all over and in every profession to get a job right now.
  11. Hi Nervouswreck11! Congratulations on the job offer. Hopefully we'll hear something soon regarding interviews. Which hospital is it with?
  12. I am very anxious too! I hope to hear some good news soon. The waiting is horrible right now. I hope everyone is having a good day and I'm glad we can support each other through this process.
  13. Hey everyone! I wanted to wish everyone good luck! I am so nervous and I can't wait until the end of September. I just want to know if I got an interview or not. It would be a dream come true for me.
  14. Hi Bensonya! I would think explaining how your clinicals went in those areas would help the person reading them understand why you would be a perfect fit. Put in your essay how passionate you are about being in the NICU. I'm not sure if you need to explain how this will help you achieve your long term goals once you graduate. When I was in school, that was something they wanted to know and basically was the letter itself. All you can do is your best and be honest about why you want to be there. I wish you all the best and I hope you get your first choice. Keep us posted.
  15. Hi everyone! I am excited and very nervous now. I mailed my application package finally. I kept working on my letter of intent and I think it finally sounds just right. I hope everyone is doing well and good luck. I'm hoping we all get interviews.
