Hey guys. Please help me solve the following problem:

A geriatric client receives 800 ml. of 10% Dextrose in 0.33 normal saline every eight hours. Approximately how many calories per day is the client receiving intravenously?

there are 24 hours in a day. (8 hours x 3 = 24 hours)

if the patient is getting 800 ml every 8 hours then in 24 hours the patient would be getting (800 ml) x (3) = 2400 ml

then, 2400 ml (total amount)/1000 ml (per liter) x 340 calories (per liter) =
816 calories
