" A nurse is preparing an intravenous infusion of oxytocin (pitocin) in which 10 units of Pitocin are added to 1,000 ml od d5w. The nurse is to regulate the infusion so that a woman will recieve 2 milliunits per minute via an infusion pump. How many milliliters should be administered each hour?"
If anyone could help walk me through this problem that would be great and highly appreciated! Thank you!

I am not sure if I am right, so I hope that someone can check me and correct me if needed. I do desired/supplied x vehicle. The dose of the patient is 2 mu/min, so you need to get how many units per hour for your desired. You convert mu to u by dividing 2 by 1000, this leaves you with 0.002 u/min, you times that by 60 to get your dose in un/hr, which is 0.12. Then you fill in the supplied and vehicle.
0.12 un/hr x 1000 ml= 12 ml/hr
-----------
10 un
