***MEDICAL CODING ???

Hello! I'm new to this group. I have been reading about becoming a medical coder and the option of working remotely. I have seen so many forums and companies offering to certify that I'm super confused. Do i need both ICD 9 and 10 certification at the same time, is AHIMA a training option?

Can someone please explain what do I REALLY need to get certified on, with who ? I'm a RN, BSN with over 10 years of experience but can't afford childcare for 2 kids, so I need to generate income remotely and help our family budget.
