I really need help understanding mechanical ventilation (PRVC mode in particular). We haven't gone over respiratory failure & vents yet in class but I have a patient on a ventilator - PRVC mode - that I'm seeing tomorrow.

I kinda can get the basics but I've been searching online & everything is confusing to me!! Can someone please help by maybe "dumbing it down" for me?!?!

Thanks in advance

make friends with the respiratory therapists. they can really help you troubleshoot on the different machines. when all else fails ,always know where your ambu bag is and make sure it is actually hooked up to o2 that is on.
