Measuring height

Hi. I am wondering if anyone could tell me how to measure and interpret height using an upright scale. I know how to take weight but looking at the little lines3/8, 3 and a quarter, etc. Are there any websites I can go to that demonstrates how to interpret height. I am a little confused.

It really depends on what type of scale you have and how it measures. The ones in my office at work use inches or centimeters and do not have feet so we have to figure that up. There are also some that measure in feet. If there are #'s on both sides then it measures in 2 different ways and you can usually look at the bottom of the scale where the #'s start and it will say inches or cm. If it measures by feet then there will be a big 1/2/3 and so on about a foot apart and there will be lines in between for exact measurement.

From what you posted with 3 and a quater I would imagine that you measured a child who is 3 feet and 1/4 of a foot which would be 3'3. I'm sure there are also sites on youtube that can show you how to measure properly.
