Master's NP programs around NYC

Hello, I am considering moving to NY next year and applying to NP programs in 2-3 years after becoming a state resident.

I'm looking for a good program that is not super expensive and will take people with GPAs in the mid 3 range. My GPA will be around 3.4. Is that competitive enough?

I want to do acute care NP. Do you know of any programs that do not require ICU experience?

For psychiatric/ geriatric and midwife programs no need for ICU experience.

In some programs there is a philosophy of "primary care nursing" so they could be for nurses that plan to work in primary care. In my program there are several RNs that never worked in hospital, only in primary care . In some cases some NP students nursing is a second profession and they worked in school setting and other, but never worked full time as an RN.

In order to work in acute care as an NP, you should have "acute care experience" in ER, acute argent care in primary care and other.

Just decide were do you want to work in the future.

Good Luck.
