Hi everyone! This is for future reference and for anyone who may need to get this done:

If you need to be certified or recertified for CPR/AED, Carney Hospital in Dorchester offers the cheapest courses in the Boston area. It costs $40 and you can receive your card right after training has ended on the very same day. It is the course provided by the American Heart Association for Basic Life Support CPR. Courses are offered every week, either on Thursday or Saturday, with the days alternating between each other each week. The Thursday courses are offered in the evening (6 pm - 10 pm), while the Saturday courses are done during the day (10 am - 2 pm). I have done my certification there twice and have enjoyed the format they present to their students and how they teach it to the students. (I always do the Saturday morning option and the class tends to end early... )

Has any LPNs heard anything yet?

Not yet. Checking my degree works daily. Mine hasn't been audited since feb 10 when I turned everything in. Getting impatient!

Random question, but just wanted an opinion: Is it worth getting a CNA certification before going to school in the Fall?

I have read that you are qualified to test for the CNA exam after the first semester of clinicals ( not sure if that's true) so wondering if I should just save my money and do that. I would like to work as a CNA while in the program.

Any thoughts would be appreciated :)

I've been told that being a CNA can work against you in the regards that you get used to doing it one way vs testing in nursing school by the books. Cna is pretty much the first semester is nursing school. If you truly want to be a nurse I wouldn't waste your time/money

Thank you. I currently work full time in Marketing so I am thinking of health care related jobs I can work part time while in the program.
