maricopa nursing program

I am officially now on the waitlist of the RN program and I wanted to get feedback on the program. Which schools were the best for the program? Are there books besides the ones required that help you throughout it and to pass the NCLEX? What tips do you have that helped or is helping you get through? I need all the tips or whatever feedback. I am really nervous and have heard crazy things about it and I would just like some feedback. Are there things you recommend in order to succeed? Thank you so much for your time!

I was a gateway community college student and of course I am biased to the facility faculty. I would hands down recommend them to anyone. As a nurse I have taken students from every nursing college in AZ and my favorites are MCC students. My only advice is make sure you enroll in a bridge program to obtain your BSN. Many hospitals now will not even consider you with out those initials behind your name

elaine1991, what is your time stamp? You may be surprised to hear back sooner than you think. I just had the info session for the CEP option with the universities and stopped to chat with the director of the MCC nursing program. I asked the same questions about the differences in schools, and was told they all should be the same. Check out the graduation rates for the schools and determine what best suits you. I found the info on the Arizona State Board of Nursing website. Look under education, consumer education, for on time graduation rates.

Also look under the same web site, there is a grey bar with menus along it, look for education. From that tab look for NCLEX, then scroll down and check out the various reports. There is one called NCLEX quarterly pass rates, this shows pass rates by schools. Gives you an idea anyways on the school and their performance as the scores say it all.

Thanks for your advice. With the bridge you mean after I get my associates ? I am not familiar Im newer to the school. Gateway is about hour and a half from me so I applied to those closer. Thanks :)

My time stamp isn't showing on the site for me right now but It was like 8 something but it wouldn't be randomized until 2/6 it says. I'm newer to the school so I spoke with a nursing advisor and she told me it could be a year or so. Thanks I will check out the site. What is your time stamp? Did they give you an estimate? Thanks :)

I just looked up the graduation rates and the 2012-2013 does not look good at Chandler gilbert and it's not updated. Mesa is a little higher on the scores. I wonder which is truly better Mesa or chandler? Since they are not updated it's hard to really tell.
