malpractice ins for educators / NP

Does anyone know of an insurance carrier who will write a policy for me? I am an NP, but have no plans to ever practice as such. Instead, I am an educator in an ADN program. NSO wants over $1000 to insure me unless I surrender my NP license. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

Will the school with which you are employed provide you with insurance? I suggest you meet with your program's director and discuss this with her. I'm sure they know how fortunate they are to have an NP teaching at their school, and as such they should be willing to work with you on this. If nothing else, they might be able to locate an insurer or include you in their facility policy.
