Hi everyone just wanted to give a word of encouragement. The program that I am enrolled in is 14 months long and I remember saying the same thing "1 month and 14 more to go." Now I can say 8 down and 6 more to go. Even though it has been a never ending journey of reading and studying I can say that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. It has also been a journey with a lot of rewards especially when working in a clinical setting and being able to care for others. Just hang in there and read read read!!!! You will be done with your program before you know it

Thanks for the words of encouragement! I start clinicals tomorrow I am a bit fearful, but more of just wanna get it done so I can see that light. I really look forward to that day but right now i'll enjoy this bull ride , until it's over.

Well you ain't alone on the worried part! We did our orientation yesterday at a small hospital, which was pretty boring but the teacher did her best. The person in charge at the hospital made it known that she wouldn't be given us a tour after she had already done it for the teachers. So we we're free to tour the hospital ourselves...it was pretty basic.

I really felt a bit over whelmed, I don't prefer the hospital atmosphere and I have no intensions of working in one. We do need the hospital experience to complete our clinical, so I'll suck it up until I'm done. We will be going on Tue & Thurs for now.

Our class is the first so it's all a work in progress, and bit unorganized. I just pray to make it out safely and NCLEX pass rate free.

I am also nervous about going to clinical. We start next week. What did you do when you went to the hospital? I got your message but I can't send private messages as yet.

Just a short tour of the place, went into a empty room &discussed all amenities and items in room, told what we will be doing, discussed a few scenariors.

Not much more than that.

I passed my entrance exam and I have my interview next week can u give me an heads up on what to expect, I am extremely extremely nervous, its my dream of becoming a nurse and the first process for me will be the lpn program. Hello and congrats on taking the first step towards your dreams!

It has now been four months and I am still hanging in. I don't attend a traditional tech or college class, with that being said I do believe it isn't as strict and consistent as I've heard others to be. I do work f/t days and attend class evenings m-th & every other Sunday. It has worked out fine for me thus far.

I will advise you that once you have your schedule to start planning your days, prioritize. If you can get your books ahead of time, start reading in advance. Read up on all the necessary supplies needed to help you be successful. That's about all you can do in advance, put your safety jacket and your thinking cap on, you'll need it.

This was suppose to be an impossible task for me....seriously! I had so much going on that I just new it wouldn't work (after mannnnnyyy years of wanting it) but just stepped out on faith and gave it a try.

You can do this!

In just finished my first term YAY and I must say it has been a lot of studying and some days I felt like my brain was going to fall out of my head¡ lol I had A&P , Pharm 1. , Human Growth and Development and Computers for LPNs - All A's we start clinicals and lab next month actually in two weeks lol Jan 6 but I plan to releaxxxxxxxxxxxxx. I do have my fundamentals nursing book but won't go through any other till maybe a day or two before we go back :) 1 term down 4 to go!
