MA to RN Transition

Hello all!

I have recently been accepted into a great nursing program to get my BSN next Fall. I am now about to complete my externship for my diploma in medical assisting. I am a single mother and I know that I must work while attending nursing school. I have even moved back in with my parents so that when classes start I can cut my work hours down to part time. I am concerned that I will not be able to handle the workload of nursing classes while also working. I know that a lot of people do it I just don't know if I can handle it. My schooling for Medical Assisting has ran pretty smoothly and I attended full time which is three days a week on campus each class was four hours long and I worked full time. I know that obviously nursing is much more rigorous and a lot more work and dedication. I am just wondering are there any Medical Assistants who made the bridge over to nursing and how hard it was for you? I just hear all these horror stories of people attending nursing schools for one or two years and they fail a class and they are kicked out of their program and are not permitted to re enroll. I am just very nervous to start a program and not be able to finish because of failing a class or financial reasons. I appreciate any advice. Thanks!
