LVN programs in Houston

Hi

I was considering doing the Medical Assistant program at HCC until I realized that the LVN program is the exact same length (but I'll have to take pre-reqs this Fall because I want to start Spring 2012). Has anyone completed the LVN program at HCC or any other school in Houston? If so can you offer any advice? Like what are the requirements to apply, professors, clinicals, etc? Anything would be appreciated!!

Thanks :)

Just a suggestion because we have one in my class that comes down from Houston... check out Victoria College Hallettsville campus... 1 year program... no pre-req classes (DET exam, physical, background check, etc)...

Cost of program might go up because of the budget cuts, but this year's out of (Victoria) county program costs are all total looking like about $5000 not including fuel and cost of living expenses.

99% NCLEX pass rate... 94% retention rate... is what I've been told.

Excellent instructors and clinical sites...

I even managed to land a job (as a PCA) at one of our clinical sites right around the semester mark that involved an offer of a post-graduation contract and scholarship reimbursement for educational costs (night shift 12s). I could give information on that if interested, too. Feel free to send me a private message if you would like more information.
