Luvox anyone?

Well, I went to my psychiatrist today. I have been off the Lamictal about a month due to hair loss/thinning. I liked the Lamictal and will probably end up getting back on it. But I have been wanting to try the SSRI merry-go-round again to see if it would help with more of my OCD type issues, anxiety, fears, etc. Once again, my doctor kind of leaves the decision making up to me. He did suggest Luvox which I have never tried, so I guess I will start with the experiments tonight. Ugh! I dread it. Some other options were any of the other SSRIs, Paxil, Lexapro, Zoloft.. or Cymbalta, Nardil patch. There are so many! Anyone have any personal experience with Luvox good or bad? I am not looking for medical advice by the way, just wanting to know if anyone has taken this and what did they think about it. Thanks!

I have generalised anxiety disorder/major depression and am on luvox. I've done the merry-go-round of medications and for me it's the only one that has worked with almost no side effects. I felt really nauseous for the first couple of weeks which I was informed is pretty normal, but after that I haven't had any major problems. It's made a change in me that even other people can see. I caught up with some old workmates today, who I hadn't seen in months and they couldn't believe the change in me and kept on saying how much healthier and happier I look.

Thanks for your reply. I took my first pill last night and I do feel a little nauseous right now, but I am going to give it a try!

Nausea is the biggest problem with the drug. It usually goes away after a day or two. It may recur when you increase the dose. Otherwise its a pretty decent drug. Not that I would give medical advice:D.
