Hey guys
My mom had a lung transplant...and her 10th year birthday is coming up february 2nd. I really wanted to get her a cake in the shape of lungs but I can't find a baker that can do that...anyone have any suggestions or know of any sites that sell any organ donation material!? There is SOOO much for breast cancer but barely anything for Organ donation. Or if anyone can make a lung cake if you give me instructions I can give them to the baker! Lol I just thought it would be a nice thing for her 10th. Thanks so much!

well, go to your local american lung association website or second wind
http://www.2ndwind.org/
you could also get a picture of lungs and have the baker shave the cake into that form...or forget about the form of lungs altogether and think of something that reminds you and/or your mom of a breath of fresh air...something symbolic of what she can do now that she couldn't do pre-transplant. congratulations on 10 years! from a thoracic surgery nurse to you and your mom.
