Hi, wondering how long the program took you start to present, and which method did you choose for modules/textbooks? Curious, as sometimes it seems daunting when starting out. :uhoh3:I have 6 credits now, need about 60 more. I am going thru TCN and Excelsior when the time comes to enroll. Did you do your general studies first, then nursing concepts? Thanks, Fancy.

I took my first exam (A&P) May 15th. NC1 through NC7 (including NC2, I'm not an LPN) were done June 4th through October 17th. I went a little out of order, though -- I did NC7 (Foundations of Professional Practice) after NC4, before NC5 and NC6. I have a bunch of general credits from my first two Associates degrees, so I don't have to take too much of the Arts/Sciences/English and all that stuff.

I finished my NCs after doing A&P, and I now have to finish Micro, Life Span (Human Growth and Dev. CLEP) and a sociology credit (I'll do the Intro to Soc CLEP).

It took me a long time to get up the guts to take A&P. I seriously studied it for about 7 months, at least, off and on, before I forced myself to schedule the exam. Once you take an exam and you get an idea of what to expect, I think it gets easier -- not that the exams get easier, but just that it's easier to make yourself take them. LOL

I used Chancellor's guides as a primary study source -- purchased them used on eBay. I also bought some of the recommended textbooks, as well as some of the "Made Incredibly Easy" books. I also have Lisa Arends' notes and I used MyStudyGroup101's notes for a couple of the exams. The most important thing is to check your knowledge against the EC exam content guide -- that way you'll know if you're learning everything. I also used the EC practice exams -- well worth the $60, and they're great study tools in themselves.

Hope that helps! Good luck to you. :)

Hey Lunah,

If I read your post correctly, you still have about 3 test to go? Just wondering because I see you have applied for the CPNE, and I was told you have to have 10 or less credits left before you are allowed to apply. Am I reading this wrong? Just curious, because if I can apply and take my test soon after I finish next year, that would be great.

With those three tests remaining, I am still within 10 credits of being done. :)

Hey,

I looked on my list and added the hours without using just memory....:) and saw it was under 10 hrs.

Thanks
