Hello!

I am hoping some of you can help me decide the best way to go about this...

I am wondering if I should complete a LPN program and then do a LPN to BSN bridge program or if I should just go straight through the BSN program. I am feeling like maybe the LPN program will be a wiser choice in the sense that I will be able to work as a nurse sooner.

I appreciate any insight anyone may have!

Thanks!

I would recommend an ASN to BSN.

I'm in Maine, and looked into the LPN program. The LPN program was 18 months and about $30,000. ( Only 1 private school offered it).I decided ( and currently 2nd semester) to enroll into the 2 year ASN at a community college for $6,000.

I chose this because My ultimate goal is to become an RN, so for 6 more months, I will have my associates degree in nursing at a much lower cost! Many local colleges/universities will transfer my 2 year credits to the BSN.

LPN's in Maine are pretty much limited to work in nursing homes and if you're lucky, a physicians office, but the LPN positions here are getting phased out.

Best of luck!:)
