LPN then RN?

I was just wondering if there were any RNs here who were LPNs first, then went back to school for RN-BSN? I became an LPN through my local community college in 2007. It was an LPN-RN bridge program. I exited as an LPN though because I was burned out of nursing school, & was a busy mom at the time. I would like to go back and bridge over to get my RN, but would have to work a full year as an LPN to be readmitted to the RN portion of the college I went to. I have been out of nursing school there more than 3 years, so it's their policy that you work one full year before being readmitted to their nursing school.

I am unable to work right now though because I'm a stay at home mom. My husband and I can't afford daycare, and have little childcare help. So it's just me to watch our kids.

I also would like to have an RN-BSN someday. I am thinking of going to a local University and working on getting in to their RN-BSN program. I have quite a few college credits from my community college that I think will transfer, but will still need to take quite a few more pre-reqs before getting in to their program. The only part that stinks is that they won't take my nursing classes from my community college (Nursing-I & II). I will have to take those over.

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone had done a community college or vocational school LPN program, then went back for an RN-BSN? I am wondering if I will probably need to take the TEAS test? Will having my LPN kind of prepare me for an RN-BSN program? What should I do to prepare for an RN-BSN program? Any comments are appreciated!

I'm almost 33 and am not getting any younger. I would like to get my RN before 40 if possible!
