I currently have my NY state LPN and I would like to get my RN. What classes do I still need to take to achieve that? I have a 21 month old and a husband in the Army, so I have to have the quickest and easiest way to do it. Any suggestions?????????

Good luck to you. We have an LPN to RN forum, where I'll move this question. Hopefully you'll find some support. Good luck.

it would depend on the program you're entering and when/how you got your lpn. i just started a 2 year rn program and was automatically given credit for nursing 111 and 112, and challenged (and passed!) nursing 113 and 114. that gives me only one year of nursing classes to take, but i've spent this year doing a whole bunch of other classes...math, biology, english, sociology and psych. if you obtained your lpn from a college, you may already have some of those classes. some rn programs will give you credit, others won't. either way, good luck...it's worth it. in our area, the lpn market is flooded due to a massive influx from new schools, and it's hard to get a job. i advise any lpn who wants job security to go back to school. god bless!
