LPN to RN

Published

Hi, This is my first time to the forum. I am 58 yrs old and have been an LPN for 17 yrs, the last 6 yrs spent in OB. My facility (small rural hospital) is telling the LPNs that at the beginning of 2007 we must either be an RN or be enrolled in school. I am doing the home study and am about ready to take my first clep exam. Can anyone tell me the difference in the clep and the tests taken at a prometric site? I know I am getting a late start but I work with babies and I love my job. Any discussion regarding home study would be appreciated. I am getting my materials from Chancellors.

It is nice to hear that you are going that route as I have been considering that myself. I'm sorry that I don't have any information for you but I certainly wish you the best.

Have you liked this program so far?

I am just finishing the first course (Sociology). I can't really give you an opinion until I take the test and see if the book covers the test material. The book they sent me is easy to read and understand. It supposedly gives you what you need to know without all the extra stuff. They also send tapes which follow the book. I'll let you know more after I take the test.
