Hi all,
I'm an LPN that has applied for the LPN to RN Articulation Program at Southwestern Illinois College. I'm anxiously awaiting my letter of acceptance (knock on wood). I'm just wondering if anyone has gone through it and could give me some tips. Also, when do the LPNs start and when are we finished? Thanks in advance! ?

Do you have to have a year of lpn work before you can get accepted in to this program? Just curious...

I am in my final 5 weeks in this program, and I'd say the best tip that I have been given: get an NCLEX-RN book to study for tests. If you are an LPN, after your summer courses you will be thrust into arguably the hardest semester of all. Look at things until you can recite it from memory, because this is not an easy program (though who wants an easy go, right). Do your best to stay afloat, as they will try to overload you with projects, studying and clinicals. You can message me if you want some more specific tips! I hope you make it in! I have not met an instructor in our program that won't help you when you need it.

Hello to everyone!!
I have questions for Nassawja and Izcenine:
How many points do you have Nassawja? I applied for the regular nursing program and am worried about getting accepted.
Izcenine, was your 1st orientation of the program held in April or May? I am trying to plan a vacation for May, but am worried it will conflict with the orientation. Also, do you remember, did you do the background check/drug testing at that 1st orientation (April) , before the 1st summer class (like May or beginning of June) or not until the fall semester (which would be the beginning of my clinicals, but not yours I guess as an LPN already)? I think we go through a company online to pay for all of thatk righ? Do we go to a local hospital or lab somewhere for the testing? I think it costs over $100 for the nursing program, so I was just wondering if they waited until school actually started for those getting loans/grants etc to help pay for school costs, or if would be something I have to come up with out of pocket.
Thanks for your input!!! I sure hope I get accepted cuz I can't wait to start this process!!!
Oh, and Izcenine, I LOVE your years experience....negative 5 weeks! That's funny!
WOO!! I got into the LPN Articulation program! So excited. Glad to finally know!
