LPN to Case Manager

Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

hi all,

i'm looking for any information regarding certification in michigan for becoming a case manager. i was looking at a web site for the organization "commission for case management certification". on their site it states that a requirement for certification is you must hold a license or certification which meets two criteria: at a minimum, the license or certification must be based on an educational requirement of a post-secondary degree program. . a post-secondary degree is defined as

any nursing school, college or university diploma obtained after graduating from high

school (nursing diploma or associate's, bachelor's, master's or doctorate degree). they further state that: the license or certification must grant you the ability to legally and independently practice without the supervision of another licensed professional in the state in which you are licensed or certified.

now my question is this: since i will be taking orders from the dr.'s of clients and most clients do have an r.n as part of their disciplinary team has anyone heard of an lpn being certified as a case manager in michigan?
