This is our second week of clinicals and I have to say this is by far my favorite term.
The first day back after spring break I got to place a foley, on a guy who had BPH, post TURP. The urologist, my nursing instructor and another nurse was in the room while I did it. Went off without a hitch!!!! Good thing I found out after placing the foley that the urologist is really agressive with treatment and can be a total jackass so to speak. I did awesome, didn't have any problems with it.
The next day I got to remove a foley!! Yay. And today I got to accompany a pt to their MRI, remove her foley and flush her IV (first time flusher here)!!!!!
I had to care for just 1 patient for all three days of clinicals this week. It was so hectic. I didn't even get a good chance to look at her chart. I got a few ada-boys and feel so great.
Just wanted to let everyone know I am loving the new responsibiities even though they can be stressful. I am loving every minute of this!!!!! Hope others feel the same way.
I am tooting my own horn if anyone can figure that out. TOOT TOOT!!!!!
