Hi everyone,
I am taking my pre-req's for the nursing program. I am about half way through, and I am REALLY struggling with Algebra. I am in the 2nd of the 3 classes that are required for the nursing program at my school. I am getting low B's so far....well I took my final exam 2 weeks ago. We were supposed to get our grades by last Monday. Well the week wend by and we didn't hear anything (this is an online course). Then last friday he sends out an email stating that the finals have been "LOST". :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire:eek: :angryfire :angryfire There is talk of possibly re-taking the final:nono: :nono: ...well I have a HUGE problem with this...how irresponsible is this?????
The instructor sent out an email this afternoon that they found the finals and they will have the grades posted by the morning........:smackingf :smackingf
I realize that accidents/mistakes happen...so I was curious if this has happened to anyone else????

Wow... I wonder what the real deal was? I would have been po'd to say the least. Thank goodness you didn't have to retake the finals! I've never had anything like that happen, worst with me was a teacher lost our quizzes once, so that grade wasn't counted. Bummer too, since I know I had aced it, but them's the breaks!

Wow...that's interesting. How can finals be lost? I had an earth science teacher in middle school "lose" all of out lab reports for the entire year...she was fired soon after....
Anyway, glad to hear they were found! Good luck with the rest of your pre-reqs!

IMHO, if they had been lost, the most fair thing would have been to give the students the option of whether re-test, or keep the grade they had going into the test. I've never heard of such a thing happening, but I can imagine that it has on very rare occasion... the one scenario that comes to mind is if a car is stolen with the exams in back, for example. As I say, it would be a very rare thing, indeed, but I can see how it could happen.
