I am a nursing student, with just one more semester go go! I have the summer off before I return to finish up.
Does anyone have any ideas what I can do over the summer to get experience or just to observe different types of nursing/jobs.
I have no idea what kind of nursing I want to do. Do the hospitals allow you to go and shadow someone for a day? or have any kind of programs like that?
I heard that it is a good idea to get a "mentor" after graduating... How do you find a mentor?
Any ideas from you seasoned Nurses would be appreciated :)

I think finding a mentor and/or shadowing is a wonderful idea! I just called people who I thought I would want to follow. Or you could ask one of your professors to give you a referral. One of mine hooked me up with a nurse in the senior center in our town and it was really valuable to get to know her!
