Looking for a Job

Hey guys,

I graduated in March of this year and just passed my NCLEX on Oct 24th. I have been looking for a job for the past month now and getting very discouraged.

I left my job as a Computer Analyst because I wanted to help people, and thought that nursing would be a more secure job.

Does anyone know of any hospitals in Florida (preferably in Orlando or anywhere in South Florida) that is hiring new nurses?

I have applied to every hospital in Orlando, west palm beach, delray beach, boca raton and Ft lauderdale.

I would really appreciate it since I am in need of a job very badly. My savings is running REALLY low now and I am getting so desperate that I may just find another computer job or relocate to another state.

Thanks

RJ

Did you apply at florida hospital. They usually are always hiring. They were slow to get back to me, so you might want to call their hr department and talk to someone in person. It took work on my part to get them to interview me. They just opened up a ton more beds, so i bet they are looking for help. They have 7 campuses.

good luck

Northside Hospital which is a smallish hospital here in St. Peterburg stresses the fact that they are a teaching hospital. I'm sure, if you wanted to relocate, they'd hire you. Its an HCA hospital. I've been there since July and everyone is real nice which is not the norm in healthcare. Good luck.

yah i have been speaking with Florida hospital on a weekly basis.. dont know why I cant get an interview? maybe no experience? maybe because i am a new grad?

Are you a new grad?

no, i have 10 years under my belt. we just hired a new grad in the icu though, but maybe she went to fh school nursing, they probably give them first crack. it is a little biased that way.

sorry.

no problem.. i definitely would get a job if i had at least one year experience.. ill keep looking though.. hopefully I will get a job there.

There are hiring new grads at Halifax in Daytona Beach.. I'm a new grad and just got hired there.. I don't know if Daytona is too far away bt I also struggled getting a job as a new grad. (I passed my boards in August) I am actually orginally from Minnesota and didn't get hired there and I got in quick at Halifax. Good luck to you and your search! Trust me, I know how frustrating it is to be sitting there with a nursing license and a nursing shortage and not getting hired!
